I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The Block Party is very well written, paced, and constructed, with interesting characters that give readers an inside look at their Alton Road community. Secrets, lies, and mystery surrounds each family in their intimate cul-de-sac until newcomers light the fuse that implodes their insular lives. The story is told from the POV of a mother and her teenage daughter, giving readers insight into the private, intersecting worlds of the adults and youth featured in the tale. An entertaining read! Recommended.
