Author Nina Prose created a most beguiling character for her Molly the Maid cozy mystery series. Molly Gray is sweet, kind, and incapable of deception, which is why readers and the characters she meets in the Regency Grand Hotel love her. Molly is neurodivergent, and her autism is both her strength and vulnerability. Her romance with pastry chef Juan Manuel is a significant plot line in each of the series’ books and culminates with their wedding in The Maid’s Secret. The novel also features Molly’s late Gran through diary entries that share her life story. I would have preferred more storyline about Molly and less about Gran but nevertheless enjoyed returning to their world. This is a light, fun to read series of cozies. We’ll see if Molly’s wedding marks the end of the series or if there are more books in the works.
